Forums - Nintendo - Best entry level Zelda game?

I've been telling some people the following: I haven't completed any Zelda game except Spirit Tracks. I loved that game, but other than that I am not really into the series. I actually have Ocarina of Time for 3DS as well, but I completed that without much pleasure at the end of the game. For some reason I'm still thinking that I can get into the Zelda series but I don't know which game to try next. I can't go for a Wii U game though, because I don't have a Wii U. If you're going to recommend a very old Zelda game I'll have to be a sneaky bastard and pirate it, which I'd rather not do, but I'm fine with it if you really recommend it. I thought about playing Phantom Hourglass once but that doesn't really help my interest in Zelda because it seems to be like Spirit Tracks.

So what should I play?

I am sorry to break it to you, but you are beyond saving.

Oh no. Has the time really come? Do I need to admit that I don't completely love a Nintendo series?

I'm ashamed :(

Twilight Princess. I'm one of those who is not really big fan of OoT, so I know where you're coming from, but I liked TWP quite a bit - despite it being Aonuma Zelda, and more or less continuation of OoT design philosophy.

Wind Waker is also good choice, some around here would argue that it is the best choice. ;)

Zelda II

jk. Of course it's A Link to the Past. It's the best entry Zelda you could have and it doubles as best Zelda game ever :)

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Twilight Princess, much better than the extremely overrated OOT.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Probably Twilight Princess of Skyward Sword (if you can handle the controls, which I never had issues with).

TP is like a "modern day" OoT, and SS is a little different which I enjoyed greatly. Both could probably be picked up on the cheap now and can be played on both Wii and Wii U, so you can't really go wrong with either! Alternately, if you get MK8, then pick up Wind Waker HD for your free game!

But not enjoying OoT is a cardinal sin.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Wind Waker!

Based on this I think I have to ask what kind of Nintendo system you have because your choices may be limited...

For me, A link to the past on the snes is the best but I don't want you to become a sneaky bastard...

I have a Wii, DS and 3DS, so it's not very limited due to backwards compatibility. So far it does seem like I might go for a console game.
