MK8 had a pretty outstanding 1st week. Selling nearly 190k hardware units in a non holiday period has never been done on Wii U until now. I personally think yes, Wii U is going to stay pretty consistant for awhile. Here's what I think sales will be (approximently) for it's first 4 weeks with MK8.

Week 1 was- 187k

Week 2- 190k

Week 3- 160k

Week 4- 145k

Total- 682k

It seems extreme but MK is a huge franchise. It might of helped Wii U a lot in the long run. Remember I'm talking about Wii U hardware not MK8 sales. So leave your thoughts in the comments.

EDIT: I am expecting the new Wii U baseline to be anywhere from 55k-80k. It's kinda hard to tell. Idk i still might be too high.

I think week 2 ~100-120K, week 3 ~70K, week 4 ~50K and that will roughly be the new baseline for Wii U for a while.

Of course, because it's kind of THE reason to buy a Wii U right now.

Gonna be a lot of sad Wii U fans here in about 4 weeks time.

For the best though, once the MK8 bump subsides some folkes will be forced to finally accept reality and move on. 

People are getting a little ahead of themselves considering that we've had one respectable week of sales...

This OP is very optimistic imo.

Next week should still be very good as MK8 released late in its first week. (I think more about 150k max though)

However, I think it will drop faster than you say after that (around 80-90k third week and then back to its new baseline.

The important part is for the new wiiu baseline to be really better than the old one. I think MK8 can do it!! Maybe 50-55k/week.

I hope you are right though.

MK8 is a great game and the Wii U as a console deserves mores sales than it had until now.

edit: but to be honest, I doubt that the second week of HW sales wil beat the first after MK8 release
