Would anyone like to join me in some crow stew? I made a ton for myself, but I have enough for a small town and I feel like a lot of you are starting to feel just as hungry.

I predicted 110k, so I always thought it was possible. I just don't see how ioi's 200k claim can be correct, the whole world would need a boost around the levels of the UK for that to happen.

The difference between Japan and the rest of the world is the MK8 promo. Japan only a got a free 1 month trial of an additional game, not an entire free game.

If we see more boosts that are more UK-like than Japan-like, we can make some relatively good assumptions on how well the "bundle" effect worked.

There is also the fact that the Wii U was pulling abysmal numbers in the UK before the release, we see with last weeks numbers that Japan, NA and Europe make up about 31.700 of the 34.600 global total, so even if NA and Europe had a UK boost; that yields about 150k for those regions, with Japan and UK making up about 30k, that leaves the rest of the world with a required 1000% boost to reach 200k, or the other regions having a boost in the area of 700%, especially if ioi's "over 200k" is to be possible.

From where I'm sitting; this just doesn't seem remotely possible, promotions and bundles be damned. I know there is room for amazing percentage-wise boosts when the baseline is very low but over 200k seems highly unrealistic in my opinion.

When do the numbers actually come out?

If there ever was a place where MK8 had a steep climb to have any meaningful bump, it would be the UK. That said, it's not unreasonable to figure WiiU to have an even bigger bump in other regions where the WiiU has had better goodwill than in the UK and a bundle is offered. I just don't see UK being a standalone turnaround region, especially given the confirmation we've had from Nintendo that 1.2 million units of the game were sold. Though I don't think it's over 200k, I figure it to be safe to assume a range between 110-200k.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

These numbers are really bad considering how japanese gamers usually welcome a much anticipated game such as MK8...
btw i thought that 100 FW was a given. If it sold any lower than that, I'd personally call MK8 a flop given the high expectations.
Still, great game, I'm having a lot of fun with it. It took me back in time.

Can't read the link, it says I have to login.. Don't have an account there

But yeah it's possible, I don't really want to predict anything now that my prediction for MK8 was under half of what it sold (good for MK8 and Wii U), but I guess it MAY have a chance. At least it will have a boost.

ah yes. sorry. It is in the members area. It basically is just a link showing the sales numbers. In case you did not believe me.

I did believe you, just wanted to see the rest of the list if there was one. Registered just now, you could just have pasted the "Read full story" link though.

Yep.

I'll be eating some of that...... For my low prediction of around 75k hardware sales.... I felt good about it too.

I beleive that it can still reach 100k. North American is where the biggest impact will be of course and between the remaining E.U countries and U.S and Canada I can see the Wii U making up the remaining 69k needed to hit 100.
