Now that I'm starting to count votes after E3, here are the Top Ten skus as of the moment, in no particular order:

  • Super Smash Bros for Wii U (Wii U)
  • Metal Gear Solid 5 (PS4)
  • Splatoon (Wii U)
  • Pokemon AlphaSapphire/OmegaRuby (3DS)
  • Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)
  • Uncharted 4 (PS4)
  • Super Smash Bros for 3DS (3DS)
  • The Legend of Zelda (Wii U)
  • Bloodborne (PS4)

It's great to see two entirely newly announced series up there! Alas, off the top of my head, I know at least half of the Top 10 won't be coming out this year.

The winner of E3 seems to have been Nintendo, both as a publisher and a hardware maker. Smash Bros and X (now Xenoblade Chronicles X) were already big, and now Splatoon has appeared and Zelda got an actual bit of footage. Plus, you have "lesser" games like Kirby, Yoshi, and Captain Toad adding up to the lineup. Nearly half of all points out of the first 28 ballots' worth are for Wii U and 3DS games, mostly from Nintendo, and the Wii U alone is currently ahead of all three noted PlayStation platforms combined.

This year's loser(s) seems to be the Xbone and/or the VIta. The One has some shooters so far, but its new announcements and trailers have garnered little attention as of yet. The Vita, meanwhile, is doing terribly, with virtually nothing coming from E3 for it. Even the 3DS got new trailers for Pokemon and Smash along with the Project S.T.E.A.M. announcement.

I think it should be noted though that this website does seem to favor Nintendo more than others. The majority of people on this site are, for what ever reason, Nintendo fans.

Right, you only joined in 2013. You joined at the very end of the time when The Last of Us was the untouchable leader, month after month after month, far away and ahead of the competition.

I remember back in the June 2013 edition, just before The Last of Us came out. It got over 10% of the points: 109 out of 994. And most of those points were from votes worth 3+ points, suggesting that people who were interested were REALLY hyped about it.

At the moment, the only game that seems likely to match TLOU in the near future is Zelda U, but at the moment, even it is comfortably below 10% of the points.

I guess I should vote now!

5p: Super Smash Bros. for 3DS (3DS)
4p: Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire (3DS)
3p: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (Wii U)
2p: Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
1p: Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition (Wii U)

Even during that period Nintendo used to get much more points than the others. The Last of us got votes from almost every Sony fans but the total numbers of votes were always in Nintendo's favor. Even in June 2013, the last month to vote for TLOF.

thats not the way i see it. Nintendo will always get more points as a publisher of course, because nintendo fans  will always have the 1st party titles as a priority in their most wanted lists. some have been keeping Zelda U on their list for like a year probably. hardly any 3rd parties grace the nintendo fans lists.

as for platform while sony fans are now experiencing a cross gen division nintendo fans are focused on the current gen for a while now. you wont find any Wii titles in their lists for a while now.

so sony fans have a wider variety of publishers, different tastes make the lists more diverse dispersing the points through more publishers and genres.

nintendo fanbase has a more unifom list type, it's not a bad thing, but neither is the sony fanbase situation. it just makes for these types of common analysis mistakes.

i believe most xbox fans in these forums have already made the leap to current gen, not sure. didnt look into it but i have that impression.

Good points, Nintendo first party games pretty much essential for the fan base. That leaves with no clear measurement.. Not that it matters much anyways.

The recent departure of some "loud" Sony fans kind of broke the balance.

thats also true, but i believe the charts are more balanced in terms of platforms nowadays, especially since the xbox crowd started voting
before xbox barely came up but when they came they did so in flocks, lol
