Maybe you should ask yourself why haven't I bought the Wii at 250 dollars yet. Are you getting your Sony fanboy hat on or are you considering buying a Wii.

Most of the people on this forum (i'm looking at you starcraftand neos) wouldn't buy it at any price. Because A they hate sony and B by buying it they would be contradicting everything they've said about how crap the PS3 is and how its a total failure

those two points cover why i don't need a ps3 right now, and i wouldn't buy one for mass market value or anything else like that.. money isn't the problem and what it can offer *me* is more important than just what it can offer

I would ask the question if you don't care about blu ray (which I don't) what makes the PS3 worth $200 or $300?  Additionally, I would ask you why you assume the 40 gig will have full backwards compatibility?  The 80 gig had software backwards compatibility and then it was removed in the 40 gig.  So really the only reason that makes sense is Sony doesn't want you buying a new shiny console to play old games.  And I haven't read anything that states they are working really hard to implement it.  Bc if they were it'd be done by now.

Find me a SINGLE quote where I have said that the PS3 is a failure.  You may try to find one, you will fail.  What I have always maintained is that I will own all three console this generation, I just wont own the PS3 until it receives some compelling exclusives. Im sure these will come in time, and I would like BC to go with it.

What I have always said is that the existance of all three consoles creates beneficial competition. 

because i don't need it? one game console (wii) is one console more than i should be playing already. damn you nintendo for wasting so much of my time.

if it's $199 and i don't have a TV set-top box to play NetFlix or some movie streaming device by then i'd be like "it's only $199. what's the worst that can happen?"

or maybe i should just stay away from it totally since then i'll have the temptation to play games, which is a bad habit to get into. i'll probably stay away from it since by then i'll probably have kids and definitely i'm not gonna have an additional game console at home.
