If there is no 3rd party support at all, Nintendo cannot serve as a third party provider. Nintendo's own brands are too strong for any 3rd party company too make any money, therefore they are gone forever.

And there is no Rareware these days to compensate the lack of 3rd pary support with a massive AAA game blowout. Unless you were a JRPG fan you did not even need a PS1 or any 3rd party game back in the N64 days.

But will it happen? NOPE!

Let's assume that Nintendo's next home console is the most powerful platform of the generation and receives the best multiplatform support in terms of quality and quantity. Would you be willing to purchase the system and use it as your default third party hub?

ABSOLUTELY

(I did it with gamecube even though I had a PS2 and Xbox - and the Xbox multiplats were sometimes even a little better looking than on GC)

Depends on the disparity, if the Playstation console isn't far behind I'd probably just keep with the controller I'm used to and enjoy.

...

I buy multiplats on whatever console provides the best ones since I end up buying all the consoles, last gen it was the 360, this gen its the PS4.

I clicked on yes, but I would only do so if they had a trophy/gamerscore style of achievement system in place as well.

I don't see it being too problematic for Mii-Verse Stickers to act like that by even the end of this generation. I wouldn't worry.

hope not. If their going to do it they should do it properly.

I'm not saying in its current form! I'm thinking that you'd get a 'sticker book' on your profile with every game and it'd have a total 'collecter' score. Imagine how much more epic that'd be; in addition to the current set up for bragging rights that the other two have you'd also get cool little pieces of art that had a sort-of use! Imagine competing with your friend for one really hard challenge in a game and then sending them a PM with your sticker on it and a little scribbled message!

Yes definitely.. I honestly cant even imagine that anylonger though. Only way it will happen is if nintendo ditches wii u and releases a new console next year with slightly upgraded specs compared to its competition

Or if they do the smart think, pump their console full of cult classics (Fatal Frames, Bayonetta, most Nintendo franchises) - thus regaining their reputation and making the little guys feel cared for... then wait until after Sony and Microsoft have revealed their machines to begin revealing information about the Nintendo Fusion. - After asking other big game's companies what they want out of such a machine, ofcourse, and planning to deliver up to twice that.

Had Wii U been successful i would of been happy to stick with that but nevermind so yeah
