You don't lose 500GB if you install something bigger than 500GB. If I install a 2TB drive I get an extra 1.5TB. Yes I can't use the drive they gave me but who cares it's 500GB. I'd much rather have this setup then some external drive sitting on my TV stand that would be annoying.

I don't see how that would be annoying.

It's annoying for a couple of reasons. It's extra mess I don't want to have around I like keeping my media center clean. More power cables because if I were to get an external drive I might as well go 3TB+. Would probably have to get an extra surge protector just to plug it in honestly.

Fair enough, I didn't know you had to plug in external harddrives when the memory gets higher.

Nice don't know if it would be worth it for Forza 5 (load times for that game should have been better). Will probably put Horizon 2 on an external HDD then.

just let me change out the internal HD already MS. fuck this proprietary bullshit connector.

I really dont want another damn thing sitting on my shelf.

The X1 isn't exacly made to be taken apart easily so I have no problem with the external HDD solution.  Plus its not like I could use the HDD that comes in the X1 on another device so I'm more then happy with the external HDD solution.

If you are going to hook up an external drive you may just install all new games on it and enjoy the faster loading times. Would be good if you can pick it and go to friend house and imediatelly start the game.

I'm actually fine with the load times in Forza 5 even though they could have been a bit better.  I'm sure they will be somewhat improved for the next game what needs a lot more improvement is the online lobbies especially for the monthly endurance races.  There are actually a good amout of Brazilians that play the game online on a regular basis they are pretty easy to spot also either their gamertags sound Brazilan or they use the Brazilan flag as their game badge.  The other X1 game I played Dead Rising  actually has pretty good load times.  The only load times that are somewhat anoying are the ones when you die and have to restart the game but that doesn't happen a lot once your character is close to being max level you rarely die.

I also don't mind loading times to start a game, but some games you have to replay the level 10-20 times to pass and keep having 1 min loading everytime. Haven't had this problem with ps4 so far but don't know what is like in X1 altough on ps3 it was hell.

I personally wouldn't find it annoying at all, though I am used to working around several external drives. I think the pros totally outweigh the added clutter if you ask me.

Can't really think of any 360 or PS3 game where I was bothered too much by the load times exect maybe for the Fable games.  Last time I was really bothered by long load times was on the PS1 but that system only had a 2X speed CD drive and not a lot of RAM.

You don't. People in the beta are using 4TB drives already with no issue. People are grasping at straws.

Some platformers had big load times... UC more or less, GT had big loads when you wanted to retry (well for me anyway)... not game breaking, but I'm a little impatient once I sit down to play =]

Loved that part about Knack, at least when you die you are instantly teleported and start over the section.
