Xavi officially announces that he's leaving Barca. Even though most people knew he would already, still very emotional. I hope we win the treble to make it the best goodbye season.

think its better for Southampton not to get to europe this year... don't think they'll have the squad depth to handle the extra matches.. Swansea under Laudrup a few years back got into Europe and got destroyed in the league..

Yet I think they have a much better chance at becoming a Champions League team by winning the Europa League than they have of finishing in the top 4. Besides if they can keep hold of their players this year as well as bring some new players in and they've probably got some promising youth players (they always seem to) then there's no reason they couldn't handle both.

its tricky, http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/europa-league-ruin-your-season-6725156

Xavi is 35, had to end one day.. him seeing this season as only being a subsitute to Iniesta was more painfulll..

Man Utd linked to Sterling now, as well as Bale, and having already bought Depay. If true, I would imagine Sterling is the back up if the Bale negotiations go nowhere.

In my opinion if participating in Europa League ruins your season then you're not even close to being qualified for the Champions League. I know smaller teams want the Champions League for money related reasons, but honestly as a fan I'd rather my team win or reach the finals in Europa League than getting destroyed in the Champions League.

I also I agree with Ka-pi, a team like Southampton has a higher chance of winning Europa League than finishing top 4.

Yeeeeeeees! VFB Stuttgart won 2-1 and is saved.

So what's the situation with Hamburg? Are they safe or are they gonna play a relegation playoff?

Relegation against Darmstadt, Karlsruhe or Kaiserslautern.

I'm proud of Dortmund. They were in last place a few months ago and yet they are going to play in UEL next season!
