Trying to get into soccer... Is St. Mirren any good? NYC beat them 2-0 in England in their first ever match. Does that mean anything, or should NYC have expected to beat them?

Friendlies, or exhibitions, are not really about results. They are trianing exercises to familiarize players with one another.  St. mirren is not a big club, but even if it was Barcelona little could be taken from it given the insensity is generally much lower in these affairs.

NYCFC should measure itself first against domestic competition in real matches. Seaosn starts in about a month so won't have to wait long.

Marco Reus extended his contract with BVB until 2019. No opt-out clause this time. Yay.

Is it confiremd that there are no clauses? I know that relegation is still unlikely, but I can't imagine him staying if you get relegated.

Can't believe that Balo is the one that helped Liverpool win against Tottenham!

The Sun is reporting it will cost 50 million pounds for him now, I don't know whether that is the clause in his contract or just the amount that Dortmund will agree to, but that's what they are saying.

Neither. It's his current market value. There is no clause in his new contract by the way, BVB confirmed that in their press release.

Woah! 8-0!? They really did get murdered!

I've watched the whole match and it was really depressing to see Hamburg play the way they did!

That is no Sunday League football pitch, but a 2nd tier football club in the English league.

I feel sorry for Blackpool Football Club.

Does this pretty much confirm that the German league has gone back to only having 1 team again though?

The last few years where other teams actually challenged (and won) were really interesting as well

Not really! I'd say Wolfsburg is also a very high quality team! By the way, Wolfsburg just won 5-4 against bayer Leverkusen!

Is that Blackpool's pitch? I feel more sorry for the opposition, at least Blackpool should be used to it if it's been like that for awhile...

Blackpool as a club has been gutted by the ownership. When they went up to the PL and got all that money? The chairman pocketed it and put fuck all into the club itself.

Theyre gonna go down, theyre gonna be in serious trouble.
