Agreed. Biased referees and all. Remember the Wembley Goal?

Similar things hold true for Argentina's cups. In 1978 they bribed like mad, in 1986 they got help from God.

This is the World Cup, the biggest football tournament on the planet. It deserves a game for third place and it should not be determined by things that depend on how strong or weak a team's opponents were.


No team even cares about the third place. It's like Australia vs Spain. Both teams were out and were just playing because FIFA made them play. Even when goals were scored they weren't celebrated with heart.

It's basically "Hey losers, play against each other so we can see who's the bigger loser among the losers." There is no prestige in being third. No one cites it with any honour.

It's just a match attempting to make more sales in tickets, advertising and food.

I thik Brazil loosing 7x1 had a very negative impact on the other semi-final, both teans played "not to loose", they werent trying to win at all.

England should have won 86 and would have done if Maradona wasnt a cheating little drugged up fuck head, would have won 90 if we could take penalties and would have won 96 if Southgate could take penalties.
