I don't think that was the issue. They had somewhat given up when Ozil scored the second goal. It was only when they got a goal near the end that they realized that they still had a chance to win

They only played against medium/low level teams until now.It's easier for neymar and the others to play well against Colombia,chile,Croacia,etc... Germany is the first big team they played against in this World Cup.
