I've heard some bollocks in my time on this forum, but this just about rises to the top of the mountain.

Argentina don't even deserve the 2 they have, nevermind an extra one.

England thoroughly deserved 66 (with some of the best players on the planet at that time) and the France team of 98 was phenomenal.

But that's not how it works, doesn't matter what happened before or after, they deserved that one imo. Actually you also said Argentina deserves another one when even people from there don't consider 78 a fair win

England has always been an average team, with no expression whatsoever on world cup aside from that title.
Not the same for France, they did had a boost in the last twenty years and some hand picked really good players as well, have a lot more expression than England, but still not so much as Netherlands and for sure not even close to Argentina, that like you or not, has a phenomenal world expression on football (that's coming from a Brazilian).

England and France are not on the level of being on the select group they are, that could be said about Uruguay nowdays as well, but Uruguay at least had a clear era of being a big guy, in the past.

It doesn't matter what effect they have on world football as a nation, outright saying that England and France don't deserve the WC wins they have (Which they both thoroughly deserved) is nonsense, no matter what way you spin it. It doesn't matter how many finals you get to or how many times you've come within minutes of actually winning the WC. A win is a win, and when it's done with such outright dominance it's thoroughly deserved.

Do the Netherlands deserve to win one? Sure. As a country they've had even worse luck than England over the years, but they don't deserve one more than someone who actually won the thing fairly and convincingly.

If you're really looking for an undeserved WC win, look at how the WC was won by Argentina in 86.

Except the team England had in 1990 was one of the most formiddable and expressive of the tournament, he's right in that you posted bullocks as what defines teams into their groups is the team performance and both England and France completely dismantled teams in the WCs they won.

I'm not saying that's how it works, it works exactly as we know, however win get a title and that's it, but I did one observation of mine, again, yes, of course that's now how it works, just a personal observation.

I read your reply to Carl. I understand the point you were trying to make now. I don't fully agree with it though

You just don't went on the same line as the thought I posted, but on something else, I never contested their victories.

That makes no sense tbh because fact is when it came down to it both France and England delivered when they had their moment, you're essentially knocking teams that didn't choke when their time came, Netherlands choked and that's what it comes down to, if you can't deliver when the time comes that you don't deserve it more than other teams who didn't choke.
