I thought I would LOVE Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

Action Anime RPG set in out space, with fast paced combat, great graphics supposedly, and exploration.

I hated it The combat flow is terrible, the save points are hours away from one another, unneccessary grinding, TERRIBLE Story, TERRIBLLE geometry, and a JAGFEST. Was expecting a 9-10/10 game and got a strong 6 light 7.

On the other hand I thought I'd HATE Ni No Kuni. I was so wrong.

The story is GREAT.

Battle system GREAT.

Graphics are STUNNING, great AA, setting, and art direction.

Was expecting to dislike it, I'm currenty having a joy playing through it.

At first, I thought I would love Twilight Princess, but in the end I was disappointed by it! I also used to think that I would dislike Sonic Heroes, but I kinda liked it!

I thought I would love Bioshock. While I didn't hate it, I just didn't feel attracted to the story, which I felt it was forced on me.

I thought I would hate Tomb Raider, but I really liked it. The story and the gameplay was great, even if it felt a bit linear for me. I liked how authentic everything felt.

Assassin's Creed 4. I heard that AC was boring, but I didn't want to believe them. I should have listened. Boring as hell.

Thought I'd love, but didn't - The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Metroid: Other M, Crackdown 2, Xenosaga trilogy, 7th-gen BioWare games, Tales of the Abyss, Dragon Quest VI, Dragon Quest IX, Final Fantasy XIII, Godus, Don't Starve, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn... I could go on and on and on.

Thought I'd dislike, but didn't - Resident Evil 4, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Red Dead Redemption, The Walking Dead. A much harder list for me to conjure up.

I always wanted to love the Final Fantasy games... Played 4, 7, 8, 9 and 12 and lost interest after a couple of hours... played half of 10 and didn't like it and I finished 13 and hated it. I'm still looking forward to 15 though.

On the other side I thought that I'd hate the singleplayer of GTA V, never was into that series but I still bought it for GTA Online... So I had a lot of fun with the solo campaign and I got disappointed by the multiplayer... weird.

This is going to be very 7th gen because i don't want to start thinking too much, it is Sunday after all
Games i thought i'd love would be Dragon Age, Dishonored and Kingdom Hearts. Really disappointed when i didn't
Games i thought i'd dislike would be Metroid Prime, Dragon's Dogma, Mass Effect Trilogy, Xenoblade, Tomb Raider reboot(never liked the franchise)

Final Fantasy XIII- huge FF fan, so I thought it was gonna be great. I've never been more wrong.

Fallout 3/New Vegas- I generally hate shooters, but I fell in love with the Fallout series. Bethesda did them right.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

I didn't think I would like Darksiders 2 but I love it!

I tend to love all games, but there's two offenders where I can't overlook:

I thought I would enjoy my time with El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. And, L.A Noire. Both games that looked fairly unique, with (apparently) distinctive personality.

Well, I was wrong. El Shaddai is plain boring (not even the plot can save this game), and L.A Noire was a big, huge disappointment. It felt like an incredible wasted opportunity from Rockstar: it was merely a tech-demo to prove how beautiful those faces looked.

On the other hand, I thought I would dislike Enchanted Arms, considering how many people have told me that game is mediocre. But, I'm enjoying it, a lot! It is certainly derivative and the OST sucks, but everything else is good!
