No, Sony does not win by default but most fanboys like to think that.

Umm they pale in comparison to Sonys total since they entered the console market in 1995, that's fact. |
No, it's not.
Do a comparison of first party software sales on PS2 and Wii, their two most successful consoles.
Wii's FP SW sales dwarf PS2's despite that console selling 50M more.
If there's one thing that's always been consistent on Nintendo console is that their software always sell well.

Pelotudo? Did I win?:o

Wii's success was due to it's simple, accessible and intuitive controller, Launch software that made great use of that controller (WiiSports, Wii Fit, Wii Play), it's cheap $250 price point, and the fact that it targeted consumers that the industry, including Sony, were not targetting (Blue ocean vs red ocean). Whatexactly would have made a difference in how it sold? Hhhmm? |
Sigh, I never said anything about whatever you're talking about. I said the Wii would have sold the same amount but PS3 would have won the gen through more console sales. Wii would have still been 100 million or whatever it is but ps3 would have been around 110-120 million if it didn't lose to the xbox.
Now :P

jaja even though this gif is very funny, is sad that the best post of the topic is an abandon thread gif...
OT: Sony does not win by default. No company wins by default. For me Nintendo always wins Since I only buy their consoles (and PC), but thats me.

To quote you, " it can't be proven, thus it's an opinion"
Sure, avoiding the $599 price and difficult to develop for hardware would have benefitted PS3, but it's not like MS stumbled on success with 360.
They took steps to get where they were:
. They made sure they got out of the gate before Sony
.They bought third party exclusive content
. They made sure they had the best online system
. They did pretty well with using Kinect to boost sales mid-gen.
So yeah, while PS3 would have taken/kept some of 360's consumers had it not been for the hardware development problems or $599 fuck up, you can't prove it would have sold $110-120m otherwise, can ya. MS weren't sitting on their ass and doing nothing to push 360's success.
I should probably end with something snarky similar to good day, sir but I'm not in the mood for that .

Yeah I can't prove it, but you can't prove that it wouldn't have either. We can only speculate thus making it an opinion and not a fact.

Well, I proved my point about Wii's sales.
So I win the argument and you lose.
How's that for snarky? Good day, sir.
