Sony is not looked at the same way like it was a decade ago. 

PS3 is not dead yet. With the Ultra Slim rumors on the air, the 3rd world will love some cheap PS3. Can even sell more 20M and destroy the math for many ...

But the most precious thing Sony achieves is that it keeps Playstation4 a gaming console concentrating on games without any incredibly rebundant functions,although for the time being we can't know whether it is a right decision for Sony.It's a kind of bravery,I think.

Saying sony wins generation by default would be like saying nintendo games have long legs by default.

Sony consoles are supported until the end of the generation and even beyond, that's the strengh of sony consoles

You never know. the xbox wasnt really popular anyway. xbox 360 stole a lot of territories. xbox two might steal some too. Also, there might be a new console maker.

The reason the ps3 outsold the xbox 360 is simply put. The ps3 is more open to 3rd world countries and people without the best online connection . the xbox 360 is more geared towards having an online connection. Two, the exclusives, ps3 was putting out amazing exclusives towards the end, while the 360 abandoned the thought of it. So a lot of people who had a 360 were inclined to buy the ps3 at the end of the life cycle and play the exclusives they missed
