Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rant Enclosed

Just read the OP, and having gotten into the internet scene about when I got an N64 I can tell you that times just don't change that much. The N64 got the same trash talk from PSX kids. The fact of the matter is, kids and teenagers are dumb. They think Gears of War is cooler than Super Mario Galaxy, because mario doesn't have a chainsaw. I could rant about how much I hate teenagers, but that would be at least a 6 volume set of books.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Fuck the 70% of stupid teenagers, and I'm still only 19 myself. Most kids are amazingly narrow minded. Hence the "boy" in fan-boy.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Isn't most of that rant out of date at this point?

I don't think it has anything to do with Nintendo. It's a perception thing in America. Animated movies are also said to be kiddy, but I find most of the better ones to have so many adult easter egg jokes that go way above children's heads. I can find more adult themes in The Incredibles than in Saw, but a teenager will naturally assume Saw to be the more adult movie. It's rated R and The Incredibles is rated PG. Nintendo does not develop M rated games, and to teenagers, adult games start at T and rise to M. It's how they perceive maturity before they've actually acquired it. The more taboo it is for them, the more mature it must be; sex, alcohol, drugs, R rated movies, M rated games, porn, etc., etc. Don't take it personally. You'll tend to notice that as gamers get older they tend to gravitate back to Nintendo. The average age of DS users was like 53 I believe, which is older than any other console or handheld.

That was pretty much an epic win.

@ Onyxmeth, I LOVE when there are adult orientated jokes in animated movies. The ones that both children and adults will laugh at, but will be laughing for a different reason. Also I agree with everything you said.

@OP: I'm 18, in England and that attitude has kind of gone now. One of my mates has a Wii (revered party thrower), and my household has one, and I'm the youngest person that goes to both of those places. Playing on the Wii with my older bro and/or some mates with some beers is a great experience and a welcomed addition to house parties.

Also the drinking game possibilities with the Wii is hilarious. Most people grow out of the mindset you're talking about eventually.

I didn't agree with all you said, but still, sir, you just earned a friend add.

I drink your milkshake.

Oh give me a X360 or a PS3 with their games full of blood and gore. Nintendo games are such a bore.

Its all a matter of opinion, everyone has different tastes. If we all liked the same games, what a boring place it would be.
