Exactly. You sound quite bitter. Better do something about it eh.

If this is a new GTA well cudos to the Vita.But if it's a port then I don't see why people would buy it.Only if they haven't played them before.
| hated_individual said: So its a mere port? I wonder if they will update the visuals and if its not coming to 3DS then Rockstar is missing the boat. Capabilities of a 3DS are decent, dishing out PlayStation 2 graphics from get go while latter titles go even to Gamecube/Wii level of visuals/graphics. If exclusive to Vita then I guess no buy, dont like akward design of Vita withbuttons and joysticks being so close to each other. |
3DS would struggle to run a straight port from PSP, especially if it supported stereoscopic 3D. Vita also able to offer dual analogue control without a huge bolt on peripheral with improved graphics and finally a decent frame rate.
I couldn't play these on PSP due to how much of a technical mess they were and how awful the controls were with 1 analogue. I'd give it a look on Vita. Still think this is fake and they'll be an iOS release though.
Fake ! When you soom the boxart, Rockstar would have never something so unprofessional like this.

It would have been interesting if an inducing GTA game came to Vita. Would it revive the Vita? Interesting experiment.
If they would port (or Sony payed) it should have rather been the Android trilogy
trilogy. Those games already have gamepad support if I'm not mistaken so even a straight port with mapped controls would do.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

If Sony paid for these games to be ported they shouldn't have even bothered. If people wanted them on the Vita they could have easily, and probably did, purchase them digitally from the PS Store one of the many times they've been on sale. I'm also not sure which, but one of the two was available free on PS+. As for amazing for their time? I don't agree that even when they were brand new they were amazing. The GTA 3 style GTA titles have always had an awful lock on which makes combat close to unplayable. If you haven't played it, check out Scarface the World is Yours or Driver Parallel Lines, both on the PS2 and Xbox, and both of which were later ported to the Wii. Driver Parallel Lines had a good storyline, great city design, and while the gameplay used auto aim, it's usage was as good as games like Tomb Raider. Scarface the World is Yours has probably the worst city design of a sixth gen open world game, but a lot of explorable areas within the game, really good missions, and amazing gameplay with extremely fluid third person shooting combed with auto aim that was ripped off and later used on GTA4, GTA5, and RDR. Just my opinion, though. |
LCS was free on PS+ in Europe at least, but that's very different from a remake that takes advantage of the Vita
I meant they were amazing for their time given that they were on PSP. I remember that the PS2 GTAs were kind of terrible in many ways, but most of it did really blow me away with what they managed, but they were definitely exceptional games. The PSP games did have even larger issues, but were still great given the hardware limitations
I don't see the point even if they are remastered. You could just download them on the PSN. Yeah the controls wouldn't use Vita's two joysticks and graphics capabilities, but that's not worth a purchase to me.
@Mikerox
Ofcourse VCS and LCS were mess on PSP because PSP was like half of PlayStation 2 in its potential and 3DS is not weak, at very least it has PlayStation 2 visuals yet games like Monster Hunter and Resident Evil Revelations blow away PSP and PS2 counterparts by alot. Even my cheapo 2011 android smartphone that was overclocked to 800+ Mhz with display of 320x240 was able to run GTA3 on lowest setting(PS2 graphic) at 1020 fps and it had like 2GFLOPS of compute performance while 3DS has like 6-8 GFLOPS or more since we dont know the specs and my smartphone has ARMv6 single core CPU while 3DS has ARMv11 which is dual core.
To clear things, I'm not bitter (@ bubblegamer). It's not like the Vita is beating the 3DS. As a Nintendo gamer, I've been past Rockstar so there is nothing there. I was only saying that it will make the Vita owners happy for sure cause they're thirsty for some action. It won't make the Vita a success.
