I think Yoshida said that they started it right after Uncharted 3 (Meaning late 2011)

OP: If this is true, I'm not sure what to think of it yet. The person never really specified how dark it would be, so It's probably pretty much anywhere inbetween Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us. I hope It's closer to Uncharted 3.

I'd want it to be closer to The Last of Us. I enjoyed TLoU, while I didn't enjoy UC all that much.

People have left ND in past several times. From Jason ruben to Amy Hennig. Many have formed successful studios also. Ready at dawn (creators of the order 1886) is made up mostly naughty dog veterans. A few people dont make a great game. Just like a single movie isnt made by Christopher Nolan alone. Naughty dog will deliver.

2014 actually makes a lot of sense. By then the game will have been 3 years into development. Although 2015 makes even more sense since It's a new console and it goes with the pattern of releasing a game every 2 years.
