Adult Link or young Link?

I've been very adament about how the last thing I want is a Twilight Princess "hardcore, dark, gritty, realistic" Zelda game for the Wii U. It's the worst game in the series (still a good game though, because it's Zelda) and a perfect example of what the Zelda series is NOT: uninspired. That being said, I was thinking about it more and more, and while the boring direction that Twilight Princess went with bothered me, I think what bothered me more was the way Aonuma succomed to the "adult link" demands of non-fans, and made link older for the entire game. And then again with Skyward Sword.

I'm sorry, but this is Zelda. Zelda has always been a game about a young adventurer. Every single Zelda game had Link as a young lad until TP.

LoZ: Young

LoZ 2: Young

LttP: Young

Oracle games: Young

OoT: Young

Wind Waker: Young

LA: Young

Minish Cap: Young

PH: Young

ST: Young

ALBW: Young

Even OoT Link was a child who's body aged seven years. Why console Link thinks he's to old for the franchise is beyond, but I, more than anything else, want to see young Link return Zelda Wii U.

While I really want to see a Wii U Zelda game who's art style looks more like this:

...and this:

...and this:

...and especially these:

...More than all that, I just don't want to see another Link who looks like this:

Now I'm sure 99% of you will disagree with me, but I want to see just how many of you, like me, would like to see a young Link return to consoles. How many of you agree?

I am the 99%.

Think I'll play through Journey again tonight. Been a while since I played it.

They should do what MGS did and make "Old" Link.

I'm not even a hardcore Zelda fan and LoZ: LBW on the Wii U with Journey graphics...
I wouldn't even have to think about it.
Its a real shame, it probably won't happen, but it should be easily possible on the Wii U.

That's what I'm saying! We don't need no gritty Zelda.

Psh, we dont need anymore young link Or young adult link!

What we need, is old man link! Hunched back, santa beard, and cane instead of sword!

Your opinion is terrible and you should feel terrible about it. Society tells me that gritty Zeldas are the only good Zeldas. Wind Waker was an absolute abomination and must be fixed with multiple other games like Twilight Princess. Only then shall the Zelda franchise be rectified.

He's not exactly "Young Link" in Zelda 2 either. The game takes place several years after the first game (he's 16 or 17, I believe).

Anyhow, yes, I agree with you. I think young Link is best, although a lot of that artwork doesn't do the character justice IMO. The Wind Waker/Minish Cap/DS games look is what I prefer (OoT looks good too).

I don't mind the older Link though, as long as he doesn't look too feminine (Hyrule Warriors) and as long as he wears pants instead of tights, lol.

With adult Link we get characters like this

So your opinion is terrible.

I'm actually badjoking, I don't really care if Link is young or adult.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
