Porting a PS3 game would be a cheap expense compared to the loss of allowing Sony to stream in on Now.

I mean Sega has already done it with Yakuza

Sega is letting Atlus do whatever they want. If the Persona Audience wasn't significant in the west than the series would be exclusive to the east. So the Audience is international not just Japanese. Not to mention it would face less competition from JRPGs on the PS4 then the Vita. Persona doesn't need to worry about competition. It's persona. It's fans will buy it. You think that Atlus will favor a console that sells better in the west over japan for a JRPG? And it's not signifigant in the west, it's signifigant in the U.S. Europe doesn't care about JRPGs.

It'll come to the Vita. Before it comes to the PS4.

Yah, but PS3s have sold what ~10mil life time in Japan? Why would Japanese developers be so quick to give up on the PS4? If Sega is smart they would use the media attention of the P5 on PS3 to capitalize on a PS4 and Vita port as well, considering either versions would be harder to advertise standalone.

Because the PS4 won't well 10m lifetime in japan. The Vita actually might. And Japan vastly prefers handhelds. Why would they just ignore the Sony one that's actually selling marginally okay over there and instead support the console nobody there prefers that's literally about to sell less than the Wii U week to week.

I would bet money that a Vita version of P5 would sell better on the Vita than on the PS3 in Japan.

I wonder why they can't port it to the 3DS. That would sell better than any of them.

Give it a chance, if by next year its not at a healthy selling level, then that would be the time to be worried.

There's nothing releasing in the next year that would make it sell better than it's selling there. No need to worry. The 360 did fine without Japan last gen. The PS4 will do fine this gen. Well, not in Japan. That's a lost cause.

iOS would sell better than 3DS.

Only if they scaled down the pricing because, you know, that's why cell phone games are so popular there. They're cheap. (Not the Japanese, the mobile games)

Have you seen the sales for the Vita version of X-X2 HD? They're almost the same as the PS3's. Even the moneygrubbing SE was impressed acknowledged the Vita. Face it, JRPGs are in high demand on the Vita, especially Persona.
