He technically brought down to 1 jedi 0 sith. The next three will likely show it stabalizing.

 Anakin killed all the Jedi, then all the sith leaving only his progeny that will create a new sith order as well as jedi. Balance.

Oh God no, that's the last thing we need. Only thing worse would be if they somehow resurrect and shoehorn Vader into the sequels.

If Luke falls in The Empire Strikes Back and safely rolls down an tunnel without a scratch, then the emperor can survive a fall as well....at least using Star Wars logic.

Yes, this is the plot of Dark Empire: Sidious survives the fall, tries to turn Luke (although this happened 6 years after "Return", not 35 or so like episode 7).

It doesn't work because it negates Anakin's sacrifice and diminishes the significance of his entire character arc, and his arc is the first six movies to begin with...
