I'm sure they will if it will save them money and they can reduce the price (or increase their margin)... and I really think reducing the price may at least stable the drops a bit.

Yeah, we all do. And I guess we don't have long to wait, since we might see an announcement at E3.

Lol no, just no. What is it with some people round here saying the 360 has been outselling the PS3 worldwide when it is a fact that all the shipment numbers we've had over the past few years show the PS3 has been outselling the 360, it's like some people live in opposite land.

Since both the PS3 and 360 have been available worldwide, out of the 23 quarters worth of data that can be directly compared the 360 has only managed to outsell the PS3 7 times, so 70% of the time the 360 has failed to outsell the PS3. And in the past 2 years worth of data we have there isn't a single quarter where the 360 managed to outsell the PS3.

January - March 2012: PS3 1.9m / 360 1.4m

April - June 2013: PS3 1.1m / 360 1.0m

July - September 2013: PS3 2.0m / 360 1.2m

On top of that for many years now whatever amount the 360 outsells the PS3 in the USA the PS3 makes up that amount by outselling the 360 in Japan and that's still true to this day. That leaves Europe+the rest of the world where the Playstation has always dominated the 360 and there is zero evidence that magically the 360 is now outselling the PS3.

Both console's sales are slowing down but the PS3 is selling more and the Playstation brand has a history of doing well late into each generation unlike other console brands. Sony reworking the PS3 design and/or cutting the price wouldn't be stupid and would further insure respectable sales late into the gen. The PS3 will go on to sell over 93m lifetime at least.

The PS3 announced it had shipped 80m PS3's in November

MS announced they had shipped 80m a month earlier.

The 360 has now shipped 83.7m, we know this for a fact.  We do not know what the PS3 has shipped sionce November but given the data we KNOW for the pS4 it is pretty obvious that the PS3 is level at best.  83.6m is the best number.

So yes, it may take the lead this next quarter, but right now it hasnt and it certainly hadn't a year ago when everyone here and VGC said it had... as BOTH the companies have confirmed by their repsective 80m announcements.

Apart from the last sentence of my post which is my opinion that the PS3 will sell at least 93m lifetime, EVERY OTHER SINGLE THING THAT I WROTE IS A STONE COLD FACT, it's embarising that you still try to deny any of this.

And no you are wrong yet again, Microsoft didn't announce the 360 had reached 80m a month earlier than the PS3, Microsoft announced they had reached 80m on the 17th of October 2013 (http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/10/17/xbox-360-80-million-sold-and-counting) whilst Sony annouced they reached 80m on the 2nd of November (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-06-playstation-3-sales-hit-80-million) that's only 2 and a bit weeks difference which is next to nothing. Since then in another thread of yours i have unequivocally proven that it is possible that he PS3 has sold more than the 360 since the above annoucements so you can not say as a fact the 360 is ahead of PS3, the truth is it's too close to call, stop lying.

I always like matte finish better then glossy also.  Wouldn't mind glossy that much if it wouldn't scratch so easy.

If Sony can keep the current demand  for PS3 while reducing manufacture costs.  It's more profits for them, isn't it ?

Current demand is falling.  Whats hard to understand?  It will be dead next year.

Dude, What we pay for a harddrive and what companies like sony pay are two DIFFERENT things!

I worked at a mom and pop Computer store and when ordering HDD's take the $59.99 that's retail... We actually payed far less a good $35 most of the time that's only ordering 12 at a time! Take Sony who probably order 10's of thousands at a time they would pay far less.
