Forums - Gaming - PS3 12 GB Sold Out at Major Retailers Online. Possible Sign of an E3 Announcement?

Dont worry guys, just like the Vita and April NPD, there is no real demand for the PS3. The low stock (or sold out in this case) just means its an unwanted product.

They should make an even smaller PS3 you can stick to the HDMI port(and USB) of the PS4 ;)
Would use its internal hardware to process the game and use the PS4s storage via USB.

This is how I think it should progress if it happens: After a while Sony then offer a deal to get the version for a reduced price providing you sign up to PSNow for 2 years. Then they add in PS4 remote play from another room, add Vita games to PSNow. What you have there is a VitaTV turned into the patented PlaystationTV.

The PS5 Exists.

I wouldn't mind a PS3 mini with a close to PS2 Slim size. I'm still waiting on my "backup" PS3 purchase.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

How can this be a sign of an E3 announcement? Gamers now have animal instinct for unannounced games?

It desperately needs a pricecut. Demand is quite low for the console now.

Doesn't seem low to me. Might become low when PS Now begins though

A price cut or simple redesign will make little to no difference. Its pointless. The last gen of consoles is pretty much saturated by now.

As Sony showed with the PS2 there are emerging markets they can sell too for a long time after a new gen launches.

Hope it means they are discontinuing it. The 12GB is a terrible console with all the mandatory installs, I feel sorry for anyone who buys one. I have swayed many people into buying a 250GB or a 360 just so they don't come to me later wondering why their console is full.

Different gens, different world, different consoles.

The shipments show us how this is panning out.  The PS3 and 360 are dying rapidly (aligned the PS3 is dying quicker).  Emerging markets want the ONE and PS4 now, they arent the second class economies they once where.  They will ship very low numbers this FY, almost nothing next FY and then be discontinued.

So what your saying is there is at least 2 more years, so if they could make a cheaper SKU to increase profits they should.

Not saying that they will, if they make something cheaper than the current super slim, id be afriad to even touch it.
