With the current pre-order rate in N.A, it is most likely that MK8 will open with close to 500- 600k alone. Lets cross out fingers and hope E.U and Japan can fill the remaining gap.

The only review I tend to care about is IGN's and that's mostly because they bother to give enough details to explain their ranking. I rarely disagree with IGN reviews, but in this particular case I'm somewhat excited for the hugeness of the "arenas" because they are on the racing maps. It will be a lot of fun with a lot of hiding places and such.

I honestly think they will release more arena like things in the future with free dlc (they probably didn't get to it in order to push the Mk8 release up earlier). This would be fine with me.

All I know is, I was REALLY hoping it would squeeze into a 90 on Metacritic, so we could all just sit back and laugh at the Sony/MS fanboys hating on the Wii U, lol...

Unfortunately, I don't know if that's going to happen. The highest scoring reviews generally come out first, and it almost always goes down from there in the coming month following the game's release...

I get it that a 89 is frustrating because its just 1 point away from universal acclaim, but 89 is still very good.

Has anyone taken the time to calculate just how close it is to 90?  You know, added up all the numbers and averaged them... Could one more review of 90 actually push it to 90!?!?
