Forums - Gaming - What did you think of the sixth gen Crash Bandicoot games?

I actually really enjoyed the Crash games I played on the sixth gen, I have Crash Tag Team Racing, one of my favorite arcade racers of the sixth gen and Crash Bandicoot The Wrath of Cortex, I haven't played any of the other ones.  Crash Tag Team Racing was great, the ability to be able to fuse with anyone let to so many different possibilities and I loved defusing at the end of racing and screwing over the other guy.  I remember the story mode let you walk as Crash in the world and it was decent, nothing too special, but the actual racing is where this game shines.  Now for the Wrath of Cortex, I've actually only played this game through once and don't remember a lot about it, but I remember it being a good game, I think it was basically like the classic Crash games, except with updated visuals.

What are your guy's experiences with the sixth gen Crash games?

Wrath of Cortex was pretty great. It wasn't very innovative as it drew a lot of inspiration from Crash 3, but I didn't mind. Nothing wrong with getting more Crash Bandicoot. Everything after that though has been a long painful descent into mediocrity. Now I wait for Activision's inevitable reboot where they shove poor Crash into a Skylanders game and try to milk him for all he's worth.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Yes, that's pretty much right. The new developers at the time actually didn't fuck it up like what I heard about Spyro (haven't played other than the PS1 games).

The first 6.gen Crash titles were pretty good in my opinion. The Wrath of Cortex took what was good about the PS1 games and gave it a fresh paint job, and that's all I needed. Great game. Also, Crash Nitro Kart was great, I don't remember very much of it now, my cousin has it somewhere. The developers of that one took what was great about Team Racing (I guess, haven't actually played much of that) and gave it better controls and graphics.

After that I didn't like what was coming. I loaned Tag Team Racing with a neighbor, and HATED it. Too much platforming (it's a kart game dammit) and even there the controls were too awkward. Also, the races felt so sloppy it wasn't even fun. I played it for 4-5 hours and then gave up and returned it. Nothing for me in that game.

That's pretty much what I played of Crash in the 6. gen. Haven't done any research about the games, like reviews and stuff, but I can remember there was one called Crash Twinsanity or something. *goes on Wikipedia* Yeah that was it. I remember seeing the box art in stores but didn't get it.

Yep.

Wrath of Cortex, Tag Team Racing and Twinsanity were loads of fun.

Twinsanity has such a good soundtrack.

Played Wrath of Cortex and Tag Team Racing, loved both of them.

Wrath of Cortex was pretty good. It was just a badly made version of Crash 3.

Tag Team Racing was good for Single Player but I did not enjoy the multiplayer mode much at all.

Twinsanity was alright.

Crash of the Titans was just.... bad.

How about The Huge Adventure and N-Traced on the GBA? Those games were great, its disappointing that no one talks about them :/

I'll be honest I've never even heard of those until now.
