Are you saying there is going to be zero improvements? Because that was the point of the analogy. :P

I am saying a change of formats is a poor comparison because the format is virtually the same. The difference will be comparable to PS3 vs PC versions of last gen's multi-plats, but of course they don't want to say that.

So, DVD's are 800x600, and over four times lower in pixel count than full HD. 720p, which is TLoU's native resolution, is still about half of full 1080p, are they saying that the remake will sport about 4.1 million pixels (going by the Blu-ray vs DVD analogy)? Sounds... fishy...
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
Well I think he didn't mean literally, but the general impression will be seen as big as the step from DVD to Blu-ray. Either way, can't wait for it to come out, will get it when I get a PS4, don't have it on PS3 so.
Yep.

It renders 4x as many pixels per second, with 2x the native resolution and 2x the framerate. I believe extras / audio have already been announced. |
Actually DVD to Blu-ray is a 6x increase in resolution 720x480 -> 1920x1080
Kinda funny the difference between dvd and blu-ray is always downplayed when it comes to the advantages of blu-ray, now it's suddenly huge!
I might be tempted to play it again if they offer a significant discount for upgrading, and textures, lighting etc have all been improved. Or maybe I'll wait a few years and get the platinum complete edition for $20 when all new releases are back to sub full HD struggling to reach 30 fps.

I found that a little odd myself.
