3DS XL. The bigger screens make everything better, and easier to see. I had a normal 3DS (which has the same screen size as a 2DS I've heard) until last summer when I tried Luigi's Mansion 2 on an XL. It felt really much more immersive, and it is easier to hold the XL. Haven't held a 2DS but the screens are fantastic on the XL and it's comfortable to hold too.

Yes all 3DS models are identical in terms of functionality except that the 2DS can't play in stereoscopic 3D and the wireless bar is switched to a menu button.

3DS XL all the way.

The 2DS is too big, in my opinion. And I absolutely love the 3D.

EDIT: Also, yes, it does play DS games, though the upscale isn't that great.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.
