Use last year NPD numbers and lets assume PS3 drop the same level as the 360 and WiiU is flat YoY.

Shortage is over for consumers but Sony is still probably working at stock stores to appropriate levels. Only thing I can think of

Ah, that would explain it somewhat then, if NPD don't count bundles but VGC now does.

Could be true. I know shipment levels for May so far have been huge from Sony.

Stock isn't perfect. I live in South Texas and it is still  hard to find one in stores. Of course, there's always Amazon but that's not for everyone. Overall I'd say stock issues are near gone though not eliminated. Outside the US though I still think there are legitimate stock shortages.

Shortages are far from over in the EU though, except the UK i hear. PS4 is selling for 500 on ebays here
