I'm pretty much already satisfied but that's because I know there is a Zelda coming and MK. Metroid would be icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

I think it already has a very an excellent library especially when you include VC content.

Let's see..
#1- A 3D Mario that is more like Mario 64/ Mario Sunshine
#2- A Paper Mario game that is not like Sticker Star
#3- Zelda HD
#4-MK8
#5- Smash Bros WiiU
#6- A Kirby game Metroid
#7- A 3D DK game
#8- Star Fox WiiU a good third party game like Okami or Resident Evil

This.

(Not in any order except Zelda at first.

I feel the song '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' by the Rolling Stones would be appropriate here.

Please do explain how any of these aren't realistic expectations.

my list is a little variable since my satisfaction relies on one concept. Your system has to release an average of 4 "keepers" a year. Games that 10 years from now i'll still wanna pop in the system and play. If we go ahead and assume Nintendo keeps it's usual 5ish year lifecycle then I simply need 20 keepers. I have 2 so far in Mario 3dworld and pikmin 3. i'm thinking mariokart and smash will definitely be on that list. BUT, in the spirit of keeping things interesting i'll dabble into the unknown and make a list of games that I suspect, or hope, will be made. Along with the 2 games I know i'll keep forever.
1. super Mario 3d world
2. pikmin 3
3. smash bros
4. Mario kart
5. Metroid: fps or tps as long as it has more storytelling than prime.
6. New Zelda
7. A good horror game. Silent hill, eternal darkness, whatever.
8. tps starfox
9-20. 2nd or 3rd party gems (Wii examples: the last story, nba jam, little kings story, no more heroes, madworld)
I'm hoping bayonetta, rayman origins, watchdogs and w101 make this list, but as of now I don't know yet.

I'd buy a console just for a new original Zelda game. So technically, once that's been released on WiiU I'd be satisfied and they can release something new.

However, since this is real-life, I'd at least expect the following as well for me not to be disappointed:
- 3D Super Mario
- Mario Kart
- A big 1st/2nd party second-tier franchise game that would peak my interest (could be Luigi, Star Fox, Metroid etc.)
- Something new and exiting that would peak my interest

So far, Super Mario 3D World doesn't fit the bill, even if it's the best 8th Gen game and a brilliant game in general, to qualify as the must-have 3D Mario. I'm talking about about something in the line of Mario 64 and Galaxy; grand and epic. There also hasn't been stuff yet that peaked my peaked my interest one tier down, or at least not something I would say fills that void. "Something new and exciting" could be many things, like new hardware features or a new IP, and the WiiU somewhat has it with the Gamepad and it's off-screen play. However, it's not in the same category as say Wii Sports and motion control so I'm still hoping something else will come along. Obviously, Mario Kart is coming and we can be sure Zelda is as well.

Okay, so;

- Starfox for Wii U (like Assault) - Very unlikely, imo, as the franchise has been in steady decline ever since 64.

- TPS Metroid (not developed by Sakamoto) - Unlikely, considering the most recent 3rd person Metroid's bad reception and sales, as well as the disappointing sales of the Metroid IP in general (even with the last two being on the mighty Wii).

- Mario Kart 8  - Happening

- Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U (c wut i did ther)  - Happening

- Pokken Fighters (with sound design and particles as good as Killer Instinct. Oh, and Toxicroak better be playable) - Nobody knows of this game even exists, nor what it will be if it does.

- X  - Happening

- Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (open world JRPG set in an urban city) - Game hasn't been mentioned since its original mention. Hoping for best-case scenarios won't make them come true.

- 3D Donkey Kong game (one that's not a collect-a-thon) - Not happening. It took Retro a few years to get DKCTF out. 3D would take longer, it doesn't seem like Retro are doing DK anymore, and Nintendo themselves don't have enough manpower as is. They won't outsource a main AAA franchise game to a 3rd party.

- A game that plagerizes Sunset Overdrive without shame (Project S.T.E.A.M.?) - Simply unfeasible considering Nintendo Nintendo are reluctant to blatantly copying competitors' games.

- A 3D Sonic game that takes the roller coaster, momentum based level design and mechanics found in Sonic Advance 2 (No 2D stages) - I've never played a Sonic game, so I can't comment on this one.

- Open World Mario (Because "real 3D Mario" is too complex a concept for a lot of you to understand) - Unlikely. We'll likely see a new 3D Mario game that's less linear and static than 3D World was, but it won't be 'open world'. Ever since Sunshine, the 3D Marios have become more and more linear with every iteration. Nintendo's obsessed with hand-holding, beginner-friendliness and accessibility. Expect Galaxy 1-like 'openness' at the very most.

- Kid Icarus Wii U - Sakurai himself said he won't make another KI game. Quote: 'For now, my thought is that perhaps we'll see someone else besides me make another Kid Icarus in another 25 years.' And I cannot imagine this IP being high on Nintendo's list of priorities. Also, such a game would take quite a lot of effort, seeing how they don't have much besides KI Uprising to go on for development. Unless they intendo to do Kid Icarus Uprising HD.

- 3D Kirby game - When was Kirby ever 3D? (Hint - never. Unless you mean 2.5D, but those games were still sidescrollers.)

- Bayonetta 2, I guess - Coming.
