Bummer. Yep, this is the man that ultimately inspired the look of Metroid, via his work with Dan O'Bannon on Alien. They met in a coffeeshop and Giger asked O'Bannon if he wanted to see what his dreams looked like. The rest is history.

I've saved a bit of his legacy myself in a song I call The Automatons that I wrote a few years ago and still perform tolday with my band.

RIP to a true original. I really hope he had better dreams late in his life.

The Alien series is awesome, with the first and second movies among my favorites. The creature he designed is probably one of the most iconic movie creatures ever made. It looks awesome to!
