no it's not. Will it save Wii U? Hell no. Will make tons of money? Yes

If its fun and enjoyable, then no if its a cheap cashin then yes

If it comes out this year I can see it making a bit of coin. But I'm sure this idea has peaked already.

If done correctly, it could be the Wii Us Wii sports moment. Nintendo have said that these figurines will be compatable on multiple games and i can see them expanding the idea over what we are currently seeing. Failing that, they will make a ton of profit from it.

Does depend on how it's used.

Imagine if the only way to get Pikachu (other than using the Pokémon Bank) into the new Pokemon games was to scan in his figure. Now do the same for other fan favourite Pokemons. Package the NFP disk with the game and make it so you choose your starter via a figurine so that everyone with the game can scan in character.

Now release a free/dirt cheap Stadium game on the Wii U. Call it NFP Fighters or similar, people then scan in their models and their stats are used to fight Pokémon style battles (I'd argue that this idea should be free and be compatible with all models, regardless of which game they're designed for). That increases the value proposition of the toy and creates a "John has a Wii U, lets play round his and take our Nintendo toys to play on his TV" scenario in the playground.

I strongly think that the keystone NFP game on the Wii U this year will be similar to Disney Infinity in that it will primarily be a creativity suite, but with a healthy batch of minigames involved. In fact, calling it now: Nintendo Land 2.

Wait...NFP is a platform, not a game or an accessory...what if they made it compatible with mobile phones?

Well Skylanders seems to be shifting towards mobile.. don't think Nintendo would want to go there. but I think Nintendo should make it compatible with mobile.. But then there schould be an App on mobile.. They already have a pokemon app but then it would have to do more then just view the Pokemon...  there should be like a Pokemon Battle App.. Were kids can load up there favorite pokemon and fight..

Nintendo wouldn't do that cause they wouldn't see it a an companion app to their hardware but as competition..

But wait! They put Miiverse on PC and mobile, and they're putting Mario Kart TV on mobile, as companion apps to the Wii U and 3DS platforms, so why not a mobile app for the NFP platform? It obviously wouldn't be able to play the Wii U games that are compatible with NFP, but it could give you more to do with the figurines, like train your characters, a feature Nintendo has already mentioned and would really benefit from a companion app.

Well I personally hope that Nintendo would do that.. to make apps for mobile that use the figurines ...but to have a bigger succes there should be the one app that really shows an extra value.. (In my opinion a small Pokemon Battle App would do the trick)  that way, hopefully, would persuade childeren latter on to  choose a WiiU.. Now Nintendo is too confined into the established WiiU audience will it should be used to attract a new audience..
