The FPS genre will slowly lose popularity this gen and open world games are going to become the shitz, yo!

Open World/Sandbox and Camp Open/Sandbox World all the way.
Other genres that you didn't think were open World will advance to this game design. Look at Planetside MMO Open World. Assassins Creed traditional Open World. FFXV Open World RPG. NFS Rivals is considered Open World or more so than Hot Pursuit the developers claim. Watchdogs, Uncharted, maybe a sub-genre named Camp-Open World/Horror like an Evil Within title.
FPS games still have the potential to sell more copies individually over Open world/Camp Open/Sandbox World games though, but lets see which one gives CoD the run for its money besides GTA6 this gen.

Sadly fpses
My generation is only into cod(well most of them) and don't care for great games like watch dogs mk8 or elder scrolls online
Makes me depress that my generation only likes a copy and paste shooter and act like idiots D:
Bets:
(Won)Bet with TechoHobbit: He(Techno) says 10 million by January 1,2014 I say 9 million by then. Winner gets 2 weeks of sig control.
(Lost)Bet with kinisking: I say Ps4 will win April NPD while he says Xbox One will win it; winner gets 1 week of avatar control.
Raichu's First Series:
Official Ni No Kuni Fanboy:

I wish JRPG but not gonna happen T_T I think fps again due to competitive online.

Though aren't genres are mostly defined by a question of design? Calling open-world a genre isn't different than calling adventure or survival horror genres. I guess itt merely depends how you look at it.
Not that I necessarily agree with a genre called open-world, but yeah. It's a good bet for the purpose of this thread though, and one I'll subscribe to.

exactly.
And in open world, fps' will still do very well on top of the traditional fps' which I cant see slowing down. COD might be slowing down but other shooters are/will be entering the market like destiny, titanfall, star wars and the free ones like warframe and planetside.
