1. If a game has "microtransactions" from the beginning then devs will do something that will upset who likes to earn, not to buy. 2. I have paid $60 for a game that I expect to play properly. Sure I can avoid it completely. But there is another reason. Take this scenerio. When I see someone bragging about, "Look I just baught this car. Isnt is cool?" But in reality it took me many tries to unlock that car. That time I will feel cheated.Seeing someone getting that specific car in an instant is really sad. My achievement feels meaningless. |
without knowing about the progression system and the way the cars are unlocked we can't blame them now. This is socially connected game so everyone wants to try the cars but they can't/don't want to play the single player content to unlock them to participate in the club challenges. So, they have this microtransactions and its not great that we unlocked this car and its about the way we handle the game and also playing single player content we get more experience to handle the game better and have better fame than others who unlocked the cars right away, so they cant get same treatment in the club challenges and pariticipations due to lack of fame.
Because we can challenge other clubs only the players with this fame can participate etc., so these microtransactions dont give the fame/experience other than Cars and in future Tracks through DLC(we may able to play the tracks in challenges even though we dont own that track and that track buy is only meant to play in Local mode if exists also).
So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.
PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.
Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.
Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

ah unfortunatley that is getting to be pretty standard these days, paying for cheats will be standard in all games soon i fear.
i just don't understand the hate "microtransactions" gets today.
...at least 50% of the games i played and loved last gen had microtransactions. why are things so different today than yesterday?
I agree about microtransactions. That's why I am yet to buy Forza 5 and wi t do so until its real cheap and used. Can't support these shenanigans.
More than the sense of being cheated that you described, game design is a bigger issue to me. They always make it more tedious and time consuming to unlock stuff when they offer quick unlock microtransactions.
My only problem with this game has been solved by Saint Yoshida, considering I love ports, new IPS, indies, AA, AAA, Micro-transactions, DLC, remakes, exclusives, and multiplats. 5/10 things I love. Day 1 purchase!

Microtransactions are no different than COD map packs.
