Since we are on the subject of being ridiculous, let me lie by saying I have 0 interest in the Last of Us or the Uncharted series. Games like Too Human are more interesting to me.

To be fair, this all could've easily been avoided by the OP. Hopefully it's just naievety thinking that you can just flippantly dismiss a console's game lineup and not get a big list war clusterfuck.
I mean if I made a thread about how I got a PS4 because of blank blank blank there'd be a few people that talked about why I shoulda gotten something else but it probably wouldn't totally devolve into that.
If on the other hand I make the same thread and then put in the comment "and all the Xone has is Halo....meh" then either I'm trying to get a rise out of people and start a big dumb list war or I have no idea how forums work.

Ya I gotta agree. I was living in a false paradise where I thought XBLA games had the same weight as a big budget title. On the plus side, looks like MS used that time to secure some nice backdoor deals for now.

And what exactly are the other half doing? There seems to be the same arguments on both sides, but as per usual one side seems totally oblivious to the fact that they are the same as the rest, and get on their high horse
| celador said: MS have more games further in development for two reasons: 1) They make more third party deals than anyone else, three of their main exclusives haven't been made by them 2) They barely supported the X360 with exclusives in the last two years, whereas Sony released many Of the announced but unreleased games right now, X1 has more that interest me than PS4. However, the idea that some people have spewed that games have nothing to do with PS4's success is ridiculous. If that is the case, MS better hope that Sony doesn't bother releasing any exclusives, because the console with the apparent better lineup is getting soundly beaten. |
Sony releasing a lot of exclusives in 2012 or 2013 is irrelevant when it comes to next gen development because just like MS, most of those exclusives were Sony paying an outside company to make the games for them. I think Sony internally developed maybe 6 or 7 games over those 2 years, which is fine, but not as big a deal as you make it out to be. Of course in that same time frame MS interally developed maybe 2 or 3. But they also at the time had a lot less studios than Sony, so that point is null imho. In fact given the studio difference, Sony should probably still be well ahead in development. Especially when you consider rumors that some of these companies are merely working on HD ports of PS3 games, like Last of Us, GoW, and GT6.
Which 3 main exclusives are you referring to? Dead Rising 3, maybe Ryse? Idk what the last one would be. Those first two would not exist if it weren't for MS, so trying to downplay them as something Microsoft just went out and bought is unfair imho.

You're referencing other people's arguments to respond to me. Either respond to them or not at all.

Titanfall is the last. My point is not that they don't count as exclusives, it's that they take away little development resources from MS

I can't wait for the truth to come out.
