But if you go that route and buy it 10bucks off for 50bucks and ever cancel psplus you cant play your 50 dollar game anymore, which is the point of the creation of this thread and something sony has never done.

S.T.A.G.E. said: No. You are losing only the free games. PSN Plus discounted games stay with you even after you drop the subsription. PSN Plus has many features and free games and discounted games are treated seperately. |
Dr.Henry_Killinger said: What the hell are you talking about? What does brand preference have to do with my argument? I only mentioned it because its obvious that people are overlooking the issue just because its Sony. I have never defended MS and I refuse to the same for Sony. With this "option", you do not own the game, there is no way you can spin this. You have purchased DLC, and by calling it DLC, Sony controls your right to access the game. Worse yet, they are advertising it as a full game, when its not. |

If you decide to not own the game (which btw, you never do, no matter how you "buy" it, and that goes for any game), then that is your problem.
Porcupeth said: Ok, so buy the game, and play offline whenever you want. No issue. |
Nah uh. We're supposed to comlain about anything and everything no matter how much it doesn't affect us and how many options we're given.

Um...no. If you buy the game at a discounted price it is yours. You obviously don't understand how PSN+ works.

You don't need to have the PSN version of the game. You can buy it and enjoy it at retail for $60. Sony has ALWAYS had a normal price for on sale items and a PSN Plus price as long as they have existed.

Read the original post or check the psn blogs. it is what sony is stating about the 50 dollar paid for.version of this game, and why this thread was made, and why people disagree with it.
Dr.Henry_Killinger said: Now comes Xbox One, which in turn, does even more to "trick" consumers into things they will surely regret. source: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=180254&page=1# No sane person would buy the PS+ Upgrade unless they don't know better (ignorant), they really value 10$, or they do not want the physical copy(some people are going digital only). For the first they are being taken advantage of. Just like MS has been doing for years, hence the thread title and OPs article. The Latter is even worse, because that touted "choice" does not exist for them. For them the game they paid for is locked behind a paywall. This is a truly dangerous prescedent. |
Insane person here. Here's my ignorant plan: I buy the 50$ upgrade and play it for a year and a half, since my subscription expires by then. If I still want the game, I can buy it either used or for less than a 10er in 2016, since even extremely popular games like Uncharted cost less than a 10er in a year or two. But, yeah, I must be insane. Or ignorant.
That does not even factor the possibility of not liking the game enough to want to keep playing it for years.
