For the first they are being taken advantage of. Just like MS has been doing for years, hence the thread title and OPs article. The Latter is even worse, because that touted "choice" does not exist for them. For them the game they paid for is locked behind a paywall. This is a truly dangerous prescedent. |
Insane person here. Here's my ignorant plan: I buy the 50$ upgrade and play it for a year and a half, since my subscription expires by then. If I still want the game, I can buy it either used or for less than a 10er in 2016, since even extremely popular games like Uncharted cost less than a 10er in a year or two. But, yeah, I must be insane. Or ignorant.
That does not even factor the possibility of not liking the game enough to want to keep playing it for years.
