Maybe. But don't expecte Edge to be representative of the average, they'll score it lower.

I'm sure some will bash it. When Gamespot accuses a 30 minute demo with 30 seconds of QTEs of being a QTE-fest, you know something isn't right and you also know you shouldn't trust them.

Yeah I can see that they'd have complaints about that.

At this point I'm more or less just hoping that the Order turns out ok and is successful enough for RAD to continue the series and that they'll hopefully take the input they got from this game and use it to make a truly great sequel, the potential is seriously there for this game, it's just that the execution seems to be pretty mediocre most of the time. That or they have just somehow managed to hide all the great gameplay sections from the public in favour of all these extremely tight space sections, which make the AI look stupid, makes the aiming look kinda wonky and just generally makes the game not look like that much fun.

Btw how do you know they were not kind? The issue isn't out until tomorrow and nobody on GAF has read it yet either. One poster simply speculated they weren't gonna be kind to it, without actually knowing.

I am a subscriber, I got it in the post today.  You generally get it a few days before it releases in stores

So what were their complaints?

• Controls are awkward. A bit of lag on occasion, if you aren't in the exact right position to interact with the environment it doesn't work
• Level has a sneaking section which isn't very good.  Canned animations whether you successfully or unsuccessfully kill a guard, and if you fail it is an instant death
• Says the 'AI is barely deserving of the term.'  Enemies stand out in the open, or do the same canned animations.  They played the demo four times and enemies did the exact same thing on each occasion.
• Says main character seems boring
• Said the reason the marketing message has been poor is because there is little good to show off

The sneaking section seemed like a tutorial.. also why there was only one enemy there. Can't draw conclusions

I've seen different playthroughs and AI wasn't always the same. So i'll take that with a grain of salt

Last two bits are laughable. There is little good to show off? Oh so they've played the whole game? Great. Review it then.
