Pretty sure it was already confirmed, the developer even alludes to 'playing online' in the PS Blog announcement.

I'm really excited for that game, the first trailer looked great, the world is massive and the man at the helm of the project has a great track record. Unfortunately the game is probably still over a year away from launch, but it's definitely one game that people shouldn't forget about imo.
