Sony’s Fluster Cluck Is a Real Thing, PS4 Exclusive with Couch Multiplayer; Screenshots and Info Shared

A couple weeks ago we unveiled the tradermark “Fluster Cluck” filed by Sony DADC, sparking speculation and hilarity about the use of such a strange and a little mischievous name.

Today the company sent in a press release finally explaining what it is about. It’s indeed a game, and unexpectedly it’s also a PS4 exclusive by Sony DADC’s internal studio LOOT entertainment.

The press release gives a brief explanation of the game’s backstory and features:

Fluster Cluck takes players on an out-of-this-world, cosmic adventure riddled with fast-paced challenges, unusual intergalactic beings, and quite a few flusters to keep gamers coming back for more.

Players come to the aid of two lowly Chikkin Koop employees, Pimento and Cornichon, to help them “chikkinize” everything in sight in hopes of realizing their dream of being promoted to middle-management. The fast-paced time-trial, action shooter game features single and multi-player modes that have players gathering resources by abducting cows, camels, zombies, and battling enemies as they strive to unlock new equipment and climb the corporate ladder.

We also learn that the game will be released on the PSN for PS4 this summer, and will be playable at E3 exclusively at the Nyko booth.

LOOT Entertainment Managing Director David Sterling accompanied the announcement with a comment, also explaining that the game will feature couch multiplayer involving up to four players on top of its single player campaign:

Since the dawn of videogames, memorable adventures are those that feature high degrees of competition and challenge.  Fluster Cluck is one of those games. In addition to an engaging single player campaign, Fluster Cluck also features a riotous local multiplayer mode for up to four players which will have gamers smacking the ‘cluck’ out of each other, both on screen and off.

If you’re unfamiliar with LOOT Entertainment, it’s a team of developers at Sony DADC New Media Solutions that gathers people from Sony Computer Entertainment, Treyarch and Elctronic Arts. Before working on Fluster Cluck, they have sharpened their development fangs on experience for PlayStation Home.

Below you can see the first four screenshots and pieces of artwork of the game, that show its simple but cutesy graphics and the split-screen multiplayer feature.

Updated my E3 predictions again

1). As of October 7th, all Playstation 4 bundles will get DriveClub bundled in for free. DriveClub will also be playable at E3 and will get a small trailer at Sony's conference.
2). The Order: 1886 gameplay on stage. May 2015.
3). Project Beast, Early October 2014, PS4 exclusive.
4). Uncharted 4, 'gameplay trailer (cutscenes and gameplay), February 2015.
5). GTA V, coming to PS4 'and other platforms' September 2014. Exclusive GTA V bundle for the PS4 similar to the PS3 bundle.
6). Guerrilla Games' game tease. No mention of a name or date. < Guerrilla Games confirmed they aren't attending E3 wih their new game.
7). inFAMOUS: Second Son DLC. All they'll show is Celia and Delsin talking in a cutscene, coming 'later this year'.
8). NetherRealm/Warner Bros will show Mortal Kombat X, will unveil 2 characters that weren't in Mortal Kombat . All gameplay. Will also tease another Guest Character for Playstation 3 and 4 only.
9). Activsion/Bungie will show Destiny competitive multiplayer gameplay. Date given for Beta.
10). The Last of Us Remastered date, July.
11). HouseMarque will show Resogun DLC, available this month. Will also show new game, Dead Nation sequel.
12). Sony shows new Indie games coming to PlayStation, announces a few that will be free with PS+. Will also reveal Secret Ponchos and the Binding of Isaacs coming to PS+ 'this year'.
13). Just as the show is about to end, The Last Guardian briefly appears. PS3 & PS4 logo at the end of the trailer. 2015, more at Tokyo Game Show.
14). Shadow of the Beast trailer, out September 2014
15). Unnounced Assassin's Creed from Ubisoft trailer debut
16). H1Z1 gameplay and playable on the floor, early-access on Steam 'in the upcoming weeks'
17). Playstation Now details: pricing, list of games available at launch and release date.
18). Live 4 player couch Fluster Clunk gameplay. Pricing and September date revealed.

That fluster game is so ugly it's beautiful :'D

Bungie/Activision have confirmed Destiny will be present at Sony's E3 conference

Well, with Activision going 500 mil strong on this, I can imagine the exclusive part of this deal with Sony, included being at the presentation(s), or maybe they even paid for the time lol.  Sony's opening new revenue streams all the time, after all haha.

God damn a lot of playable games in the booth! I want to know how are Helldivers, Planetside 2, Oddworld, Apotheon, CounterSpy and The Order of course.

Ohh and Hotline Miami 2 is not playable? Wtf is this shit?! They wanna pull a 2015 on me? I'm gonna kill someone if this happens ;-] Edit. (Vita version playable though? Maybe just someone forgot to write it down. It better be that or else...)

no plus required, as expected

It is a bit boring, but if it gives PS4 a massive hardware boost like Watch Dogs I'm ok with it

Destiny will probably boost PS4 sales more than any exclusive will boost any console sales this year.
