I had that problem, as I went Railroad too. The quest tracker is sending you to the wrong area of the map if it is the same part. Simply looking it up online, does give the fix though, and lets you continue. You are right though, Bethesda are slow as hell at releasing bug fixing patches.
Sadly the fixes for my issue ive seen online are PC/console commands.
Yeah that wasnt my problem it was the game simply crashing. Before i put the game down i decided to take one more stab in the dark and fixing it, heres what i did to fix it. All my saves that had Operation Ticonderoga active but had completed Battle For Bunker Hill would crash when in the vertibird, infact i couldnt go near the area where the Ticonderoga building was without the game crashing, interesting tho is the virtibirds flight path takes it right through that area coursing the crash.
The fix, suprisingly simple (and thank fuck it worked), I completed Operation Ticonderoga before Battle For Bunker Hill and geuss what?, i could go into that area with zero crashes!! The virtibird flight had zero issues aswell. But yeah this game is taking a breather till they patch it.
