E3 countdown now in single figures.
Just 9 days to go
Prepare for a week of rumors, speculation and bullshit
Sony Computer Entertainment's newest internal studio is called Pixelopus, and the company is working on a title that is set to be revealed at E3, reports the New York Times.
According to the Times, Alex Lee, an executive producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America, helped teach a game development course at Carnegie Mellon University. Students in that class were working on prototypes for PS Vita games, and some of those individuals ended up working at Sony in internships and then jobs.
The Times reports that those developers, along with others at Sony, have been making a game that will be the first title from a new studio known as Pixelopus. There's no word yet on where the team is located; Sony Computer Entertainment currently maintains 13 different internal studios across North America, Europe and Japan under its Worldwide Studios banner.
We've reached out to Sony for more information, and will update this article with any information we receive. Sony's E3 2014 press briefing will begin at 6 p.m. PDT on June 9, and will be aired in a number of U.S. movie theaters.

i have feelings you know
It’s the calm before the storm, and NeoGAF user DemonNyte, who is known to be a developer at Sony (even if his true identity is a well kept secret). posted a rather big tease in the form of a great video that you can see at the bottom of the post.
The most interesting part, though, is what he said afterwards:
http://cdn.dualshockers.com/wp-content/themes/dualshockers2/images/blockquote_icon.gif) 20px 0px no-repeat transparent;">Easter egg in webm.
It didn’t take too long for the eagle-eyed NeoGAF users to spot the easter egg. DemonNyte added the label “E3 2014 megatons” to the disk, as you can see below.
When the disk gets attached to the back of Tron‘s version of Kaz Hirai, we can hear five beeps, which were also added by DemonNyte on top of the original video from the movie.
The popular (and logical) explanation is that DemonNyte is teasing five “megaton” announcements at Sony’s E3 press conference.
A second (less popular) theory includes the sixth beep heard when the camera angle changes, for a total of six announcements, and maybe even a bigger “megaton” at the end.
One thing is for sure: while we should take this with a grain of salt due to the fact that it’s not an official source (unless, of course, it’s a controlled tease, which is very possible), DemonNyte’s track record and position definitely give it credibility.
Whether you believe it or not, check out the video below. It’s simply awesome.
All credit for the discovery goes to the NeoGAF users that cracked the code. I wouldn’t have guessed it in a thousand years.
