The only way this would work is if MS basically allowed Nintendo to take over their XBox division and run it under the Nintendo brand with minimal interference and gave Nintendo a giant marketing budget, no questions asked. 

I would assume mean the 3DS be their last dedicated hand held, so Nintendo games on phones be a reality (Windows phone exclusive?).

That said, I just do't see Microsoft dumping the billions and billions required to do this.

Microsoft would run Nintendos products into the ground. They don't know what they are doing, thats why they got Double Helix to think for them with Rare.
