Forums - Nintendo - Thoughts of R4 for DS/3DS???

I'll keep this short and sweet.

I'm selling my Vita tomorrow. Getting a 3ds (have not decided on XL or reg size yet)

I used to have an R4 for my old Ds. If you don't know what the R4 is; it's basically a way to play free games. Not sure how people defend it's use as it's essentially piracy. You down the rom files then transfer it on the game game cartridge.

I'm not going to get another one for my 3ds due to the fact that the only games I really want to play are the Pokemon games I haven't played yet (Black1/2, X/Y) and Zelda. I can easily afford those because I'm not a cheap bastard.

ANYWAYYYYYY

Just wanted to know your thoughts on the R4. Have you used it? Are you against it's use? Is anybody excited for a Vita 2?

Discuss.

YOU'RE DOING WHAT TO YOUR VITA!? :O

R4 on the 3DS isnt a thing. It gets messed up with every system update.

As for selling a Vita... you chose the worst possible time. More games than ever are beeing announced for it.

What's the point in playing it if it's not going to break 500k?

R4 on the 3ds works but ONLY to play DS games (Provided you updated the R4)... There is a thing for the 3ds called Gateway 3ds that works exactly like an r4 but it ONLY works for firmwire 4.5 or below which is really hard to find since virtually all 3ds comes preinstalled with 5.0 or higher

I wasnt aware sales numbers were playable! :D

Supercard > R4 in every single possible way pretty much.

Supercard supports GBA games, R4 does not.
Supercards last a very long time, R4s break easily, even if you make one small mistake through an update.
Supercards have great support, with R4s you most likely can't get support because most of them are fakes.
Supercards rarely freeze, R4s start to do so a lot after a while.

and most importantly:

Supercards don't become useless after a new system/update releases, the Supercard team create updates so even your old Supercard works on your new 3DS XL, R4 doesn't even work on the DS, unless you have R4i, in which case it may not work too unless your OS version is compatible with it, and it won't work on the 3DS unless you buy an R4i Gold... etc.

R4 was great! How else would I have gotten to play Soma bringer?
