Simple thread, as the title basically explains it all! I'm definitely gonna get this game Day 1, assuming Target get's it in on time of course, and was wondering who else here is doing the same! If you're not getting it Day 1, then, erm, whyyyyy!? To those who are though, would you like there to be a Day 1 VGC hosted tournament aswell? Post all the answers below and be sure to vote in the poll as soon as it's up!

Ah... I'm almost completely broke at the moment, so no day 1 for me.

Also, if I had Mario Kart preordered, the game would probably arrive 3 day after release, so no, not even if I had the money.

I don't think I will get it day 1! Besides, I would like to spend some time with the single-player aspect of MK8 before jumping into the online!

Will get it day one but will not play online until I play all the different courses and get use to it.

I guess this depend on when exactly you go to pick up the game, but there should be plenty of time for us to play the game before the tournament would start.

But this is the Wii U we're talking about. Dat low install base! Regardless, there wouldn't be any harm in trying. If it doesn't work out then ahwells, we'll just go back to playing it offline!

Huh, I thought I was pretty clear yesterday when we were discussing this. For those of you unaware of the situation, I sent the following PM to Einsam to explain the scenario and I think it's worth pointing out some key points here:

"...Note that NinPie and I have been discussing this for nearly a year now and we have come up with the following. 

For now, NintendoPie will be handling the tourneys in his thread and I will be doing one on a monthly basis most likely (I'll be manning his thread for a few weeks in the summer however). These official rounds will take place at the same time as the current MK7 tourneys take place, and there will be a free group for people to take part in outside of that during the week. However, ranked matches will take place during the Sunday Tourney and the Monthly Tourney only. 

In short, whilst overenthusiastic you do not need to host any MK8 tourneys; nor create any MK8 tourney threads (these will be locked by either myself or another moderator), however if and when we require additional help you will be the first one asked..."

To clarify, the tourneys will be handled by NintendoPie in the official thread (to be formatted shortly) and more information will be revealed very soon. However, I quite clearly said that any threads from you on this subject would be locked (as you can see above); and as such I shall be doing just that.

Also, on a personal note, I believe Day 1 tourneys are a bad idea anyway. Server issues, lack of practice or content...

Bummers, although if you did have the money, I'd think you could just walk into a store and get it, or can you only get games from online?

Oh man, sometimes I'm not thinking straight! Of course I could get it in a retail shop no problem, lol. But, as I said before, don't have the money to do so right now, so I guess I'll just have to wait a bit. Until then I have to put up with Mario Kart 7 (not to forget LM2)
