He expects that companies only start in a country if the market is already there? If every company would think like that we would be still where we have been in 1850. It's not only a step to be successful from one to the next day, it's to get your brand in peoples minds so that "if" consoles with media functions should get the interest of people you better be already there.

They may burn some hundred million but that's the risk you take if there is a chance that there will be a market anytime in the future which will be much bigger as what you risk to burn.

Microsoft missed this opportunity with other products in the last years and now people complain if they try to be there very early.

Exactly let MS do what they've been doing. If one thing is clear it's that they know what the conumer wants. Just look at windows 8 everyone loves it. Just look at all the features people just loved at E3. This is a company that has an amazing history of providing consumers with exactly what they want.

I think you're misinterpreting OP.

Market is already saturated, official release will fail to have an impact.

I disagree only because with official presence comes marketing and china specific deals. However, I doubt the impact will be significant at all, or at least changing the tide of console sales. 

 

Its not gonna be another US or even another UK, but it will probably do better than Japan. When PS4 releases there it will probably be outsold due to price and sans PC content.

Everyone's got to blow off steam some time. Though if they mostly do that on their mobiles in 10-15 minute bursts that doesn't bode well for consoles. Leave it with the grey trade I would think.
