Retail. Because the other 2 games i'm getting will already be digital.
I play games more if I get them digitally. I plugged in an old 500gb harddrive, I had lying around, a month into having a wii u. I don't like swapping disks...
Plus I'm in china and it's easier just to download stuff than trying to get stuff delivered.

That makes no sense. Game is identical both ways. But you save 10% digitally. There literally is no benefit to physical beyond having too many means needing to purchase an external HDD but that's like $30 to $80 for a 2TB drive that will sti right next to console. |
Well, there is the benefit of loaning or trading in the game.
But since everybody's going to have their own copy and nobody is fool enough to trade in Mario Kart, those points are moot.

When you get a game digitally a larger portion of what you pay goes to the ones who actually made the game instead of to some retail channel dinosaur that will not exist anymore in 10 years.
| impertinence said: Yeah, you have no clue. Obviously nothing in the house is safe if you live with kids, that doesn't mean you need to add more possible stuff to be broken. Kids carve their name with rocks into the very foundation of your home. They don't slide the bluray disc over the corner of the table and rejoice at it's prestine playback afterwards. They put all the game disc in the toaster, then microwave them for 22 minutes and 22 seconds, dump them in the toilet and burry them in the catbox. Failing that, they will break them in two with pliers and use them as frisbees that sail away into all your neigbours yards. Then they will cover the rest in a 2 inch layer of paint/nailpolish/peanutbutter/butt paste/anything in the world. And if the bluray disc is still unscratched it won't matter cause you will never find them since they are all jammed in under your heaviest bookshelf. This doesn't happen to digital downloads. |
As someone with three kids myself... jesus christ what is wrong with your children?
Mine are no angels and one is absolutely crazy without ADHD medication... but they've never done that shit. Problem is you didn't correct that the first time they started to mishandle items or not put them away correctly.
Nope, physical is always the best fall back plan in case anything happens to my wii u.

In the interest of civility I will refrain from fireing back with speculations on what's wrong with your children and how you have failed in bringing them up.
I think you might have mistaken my hypotetichal hyperbole as fact. My children are now old enough to where they don't intentionally destroy property, which is not to say they don't break shit on accident from time to time. The point is, the genetically enhanced superior diamond coating of a bluray disc is no match for the destructive force of a toddler. Careless and destructive as they are though, they just can't scratch a digital copy of a game. (They could ofcourse render a Wii U completely useless in less then 5 seconds, but if small children get a hold of your Wii you have only yourself to blame for the damage sustained)
