Forums - Sony - So, PS4 crossed the line with PS3 in Japan

Not good

Terrible 40 21.98%

FFXV needs to come 82 45.05%

West sales are the only one that matters 24 13.19%

Wii U brother 36 19.78%

Total:182

With the current library i'm even surprised it can pull above 10-15k sometimes weekly.
The transition from ps3 to ps4 didn't go as smooth and quick as in the west.

Will have to see how PS4 holds up. PS3 was really rough for like 5 months after Gundam Musou launched.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

What i was thinking. 2014 is going to be rough for the PS4 there, but once Japanese companies make the transition in 2015/2016 I could see it becoming the dominant console on the market in Japan.

Yup, Japan is dead. They clearly don't care. Hopefully Sony isn't shipping too many units over there, might as well send them to places that actually want them

Games likes FFXV will give it a boost but, imo, it's pretty much done for. It'll be lucky to do half what the Ps3 did

I wouldn't pick up a PS4 if I lived in Japan either. There's really very little to tempt you.

Though, I thought the same about the western launch and yet here we are.

Bigger games will salvage some kind of stability for the console but the dedicated home console market in Japan is rapidly contracting.

(And yes, Shadow, I remember your numbers that you post that say that isn't the case :P)

Anyone else get a sexual vibe from that crossing? Seriously, like its porn for sales enthusiasts.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Hopefully the JRPGs come in and spurt its growth, just like with the Vita

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

It's kind of stumbling instead of sprinting to the lead...

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

and the line will be crossed again when Ps4 has its first holidays.

In the long run it'll do well I think. Nothing for the Japanese to play at the moment in all fairness.
