Forums - Nintendo - Did you know that Smash and Mario Kart were the top two games on the Gamecube?

Nothing. Every prediction I've made was with the knowledge that Mario Kart and Smash are the final bosses of every Nintendo home console.

Yes and it still does not change my prediction of Wii U's LT sales.

Why do you think most people are expecting WiiU to be up YOY? It's precisely because of those two games.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Maybe history will repeat itself once more? Mario Kart 8 will dominate while Smash Bros U (3DS will interfere a bit) will boast great sales considering it'll be released on the holiday season I presume.

It is actually because this year has had a lot of games already for the Wii U. For a Nintendo system that is not the Wii. Including the late 2013 Mario release.

Nobody expected Donkey Kong or Wii Fit to be a massive seller. Most predictions centered around Mario Kart and Smash Bros because they're the only major system sellers the WiiU has this year.

I will put it in my "interesting facts" list.

Yes I knew that... But why do you think those games will help the Wii U when it didn't help the GC?

Those games are all the GameCube had. Without them, the GameCube would've crashed and burned much worse.

Actually, the perfect example of how bad it could've been is the Wii U.

LOL. That's my point kinda. A lot of people expect the Wii U to beat GC after those games launch. But Nintendo are way behind GC saleswise right now. It would seem to me the best Nintendo could hope for is that the games boost sales enough to catch up to the GC... which would be a massive feat.
