Yup GPU Compute is a big part of the future, glad Sony realised this and built in some over head for it on the GPU
What generally happens with consoles. I fully expect 2015/2016 to be years we really see what it can do.

Does it have to be extradordinary?
Something that's good for any system with compute units, that can be utilized now, that isn't as limited by the laws of physics or economics?

Personally, I am looking to see if the changes Sony made to the compute units within the PS4 will yield better results than a PC GPU or the X1. Should be interesting in the next few years to see how this comes together.
