Child of Light doesn't neatly conform to the distribution, pricing patterns of traditional software.
Indie, digital-only software regularly does quite well on the Wii U compared to other platforms. Titles like Ducktales and Mutant Mudds actually outsold competing versions on 360 and PS3. To a certain degree, less competition amongst other games == more sales for one particular game.
In the case of the gamepad, Digital Foundry confirmed Rayman Legends on Wii U to be the definitive version of the game because of the Gamepad features. The X1 and and 360 versions of Rayman Legends have sold worse than the Wii U version, in spite of what you might consider a superior gameplay experience. Though I don't t think that's strickly because of one platform offering a better gameplay experience. I believe there's an element of demographics to this as well that favors the Wii U version. The WiiU being as starved for content as it is, this title is a no-brainer to the WiiU faithful.
It's primarily for these reasons that I think the WiiU version has a shot at being the 2nd best-selling version.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
